studies have demonstrated that people who consume a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids have a significantly reduced risk of developing heart disease and the highest degree of coronary artery disease is found in individuals with the lowest concentration o omega 3's. conversely, individuals with the lowest degree of coronary artery disease had the highest concentration of omega 3 oils. omega 3 oils minimize circulatory disorders and encourage blood fow to tissues damaged by lack of circulation. DHA is essential to brain function development and growth, ultimately affecting learning ability. 50% of the brains DHA is formed during the fetal stage: the remaining 50% accumulates in the first year of so after birth.
Sources of omega 3 fatty acids
Seaweed, Salmon, mackerel, sardine, herring, anchovy, pilchard, butterfish, lake or rainbow trout, tuna. another source of omega-3 is alpha-linolenic acid, which is a fatty acid found in the oils of certain plants. flax seed, chia seed, hemph seed, pumpkin seed rapeseed and dark green vegetables - kale collards, chard, parsley. When taking in the oils of these plants please make sure they are fresh and cold pressed. Ranchid oils will do you no good.
